Set on the junction of the Wilsons and Richmond Rivers, Coraki is located in the heart of the Richmond Valley. Rich in history and heritage, this quiet and quaint country town is a popular stopover for travellers visiting the region.
Coraki provides all the creature comforts travellers enjoy including boating and water sport facilities, grassy and shaded areas along the river, a nine-hole golf course and excellent country service.

Coraki was once the busiest inland port in the State. The riverbank has always been an important part of life in Coraki. The picnic shelter located in the riverside park was built from timber recycled from the original Coraki wharf.

Coraki sits at the absolute junction where the Wilson and Richmond rivers collide. Because of this powerful meeting of the waters, this quiet village became the bustling, official “naval capital” of the entire region in the 19th century! It was a major, high-energy river port where massive timber ships, ocean-going steamers, and fleet fleets of local boats were built, repaired, and loaded with cedar to supply the growing colony of Sydney.
