Northern Rivers Rail Trail

Discover the newest must-do activity in the Richmond Valley. The Casino to Bentley section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail spans 13.4km and has been carefully crafted to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey for all trail-goers. It also includes a brand-new bridle pathway for all equestrian enthusiasts.

Starting at the heritage-listed Old Casino Station, the Rail Trail connects with the Spring Grove Road and Naughtons Gap Road car parks, where toilets, water and bike repair facilities are available, as well as ample parking and horse float access. It meanders through rich grazing lands and passes over the Naughtons Gap Tunnel that is home to a mixed colony of vulnerable Bent-winged microbats. Don’t forget to enjoy the stunning panoramic vistas from the top! Finishing at the historic Back Creek Bridge at Bentley, the Richmond Valley section will soon connect with the Lismore section which will be completed at the end of 2024.

Start Location:

The Old Casino Station, located off Dyraaba Street in Casino, is the official start of the Casino to Bentley section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. The car park provides ground level entry to the Rail Trail, toilets, water and bike facilities.
