Platypuses have set up colony along this stretch of the Richmond River. Sightings of these shy, quiet creatures are quite common during the early mornings and evenings.
The area around Irving Bridge and Webb Park is also highly populated with many species of water birds.
The platypus rock carvings in the riverbed are a marvel and can be best viewed from the western side of the Irving Bridge. Contact the Casino visitor information centre for more information.
